Jonathan Chenoweth

Dr Jonathan Chenoweth is an Associate Professor and MSc Programmes Director in the Centre for Environment and Sustainability at the University of Surrey. He holds a BPD (Planning) Hons and PhD. His research focuses on sustainable water systems, disruptive food technologies, and the water-energy-food nexus. He currently supervises five doctoral students and has successfully mentored 11 PhD completions.

Teaching responsibilities include convening modules like 'Understanding Sustainability: Methods Tools and Skills 1' and 'Life Cycle Thinking and the Circular Economy.' He directs three MSc programmes: Environmental Strategy, Corporate Environmental Management, and Sustainable Development. Office hours are Tuesdays 2-3pm in 15 AA 02.

Research applies Life Cycle Sustainability Assessment (LCSA) to evaluate environmental, social, and economic impacts across sectors. Current projects explore carbon footprinting in visitor economies and vegan meat alternatives' sustainability implications.
