Jonathan Chenoweth

Jonathan Chenoweth is a Professor of Music at the School of Music, University of Northern Iowa. He coordinates chamber music activities and serves as principal cellist with the Waterloo/Cedar Falls Symphony Orchestra, where several of his students also participate. His teaching philosophy emphasizes gratifying instrumental experiences and clarity in pedagogical goals.

Chenoweth's research interests include innovative approaches to music appreciation, service learning initiatives for student musicians, and contemporary music performance. His career spans professional ensemble memberships such as the Dakota Quartet, Soviet Emigré Chamber Orchestra, and Richmond Symphony, alongside soloist appearances at festivals across five U.S. states.
