Isaac Pastor-Chermak is an Adjunct Professor of Music History at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where he teaches courses like Beethoven's Chamber Music. As a professional cellist, he serves as Principal Cellist of the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Symphony, Vallejo Symphony, and Eisenstadt Classical Music Festival, and as Assistant Principal Cellist of the Fresno Philharmonic and Opera San Jose. He also maintains an active private cello studio and performs extensively in chamber ensembles, including the Berkeley Symphony, California Symphony, and Reno Philharmonic.

Pastor-Chermak's work centers on music history and literature, with a focus on classical repertoire and cello performance practices.
