Jonathan Boyd

Jonathan Boyd is a Lecturer at the School of Design, The Glasgow School of Art, specializing in Silversmithing & Jewellery. His academic work focuses on integrating technology into the production of complex narrative jewellery, exploring relationships between language, text, body, and objects through experimental sculptural casting systems. He has pioneered digital fabrication techniques, including rapid prototyping and thousand sprue casting, to create intricate works that bridge sculptural and wearable art.

Research Trends: His recent projects (2016–2017) emphasize public art, urban metaphors, and CAD technologies in metalwork. Earlier works (2010–2015) explore book art, collaborative design, and narrative-driven objects.
