Jonathan A. Supovitz

Jonathan A. Supovitz is a Professor and Director of the Consortium for Policy Research in Education (CPRE) at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education. His research focuses on how education organizations use evidence to drive continuous improvement in teaching and learning. He holds a PhD from Harvard University's Graduate School of Education and has extensive experience in teacher training and educational evaluation. Dr. Supovitz leads the evidence-based leadership strand of Penn’s mid-career leadership program, emphasizing inquiry-driven decision-making.

His work spans mixed-methods research, evaluating program effectiveness, teacher professional development, and instructional leadership. Notable projects include studies on Common Core implementation, formative assessment systems, and district-level instructional improvement strategies. He has also investigated the impact of teacher leadership programs and the role of equity in pandemic responses.

Dr. Supovitz serves on editorial boards for Educational Administration Quarterly and Leadership and Policy in Schools .
