Jonas Anshelm is a Professor at Linköping University's Department of Theme, specifically within Theme Technology and Social Change (Tema T). His academic work bridges history of ideas with contemporary environmental policy analysis, focusing on value conflicts emerging from large-scale technology implementation.
His research interests span nuclear power, metal mining, geoengineering, and climate policy, with methodological emphasis on discourse analysis of texts supplemented by interviews and focus groups. Recent work examines Swedish wind power resistance, transport policy transformation, and nuclear energy financing debates.
Prof. Anshelm leads multiple active research projects including Swedish transport policy analysis, energy policy studies, and serves as scientific director of The Seed Box environmental humanities collaboratory. His publications demonstrate consistent engagement with policy-relevant environmental controversies through historical and discursive lenses.
He has supervised twelve doctoral students to completion and nine others as assistant supervisor, primarily within Tema T's doctoral education program and the Environmental Science Program. Administrative responsibilities include coordination of the Environmental Humanities Forum and oversight of Tema T's higher seminar and publication series.
