Jon Miller is a Professor in the Department of Philosophy at Queen's University, Faculty of Arts and Science. His research focuses on early modern and ancient philosophy, particularly the reception of ancient philosophy by early modern thinkers. He holds a BA from Carleton College, MA from the University of Wisconsin, and PhD from the University of Toronto.

Research Interests: Miller specializes in Spinoza, Stoicism, and the interplay between ancient and early modern thought. He explores figures like Grotius, Descartes, Plato, Aristotle, Epicurus, and the Skeptics. His work bridges metaphysics, epistemology, African philosophy, and comparative studies.
Teaching: Miller teaches introductory philosophy, metaphysics, epistemology, and advanced courses on African philosophy and history of philosophy. He is frequently recognized for teaching excellence.
Awards & Grants: Recipient of Chancellor’s Research Award (Queen’s) and multiple SSHRC grants. His research outputs include six books, journal articles, and encyclopedia entries.
