Dr. Jon M Dickson is a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Sheffield within the School of Medicine and Population Health's Primary Medical Care department. He holds dual roles as a GP and Clinical Lead for Research at Primary Care Sheffield. His academic career spans neuroanatomy teaching, clinical practice, and extensive research in primary care, neurology, and epilepsy care. He has authored over 45 peer-reviewed publications, led major research grants (totaling £5.5M), and pioneered projects like the NIHR-funded RADOSS initiative.
Education: BSc (Biomedical Science, Sheffield, 1996), PhD (Neurological Disorders, Sheffield, 2000), MBChB (Oxford, 2007), and MRCGP (2012). His research focuses on epilepsy care pathways, emergency care optimization, and primary care capacity. Notable contributions include developing seizure management guidelines and investigating non-epileptic attack disorder (NEAD)'s psychosocial dimensions.
