Jon M. Conrad is a Professor of Resource Economics at the Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management at Cornell University. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (1973). Prior to joining Cornell in 1978, he was an Assistant Professor at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. His research focuses on applying dynamic optimization methods to natural resource management, with notable publications in journals like the Journal of Political Economy and Quarterly Journal of Economics. He co-authored Natural Resource Economics: Notes and Problems (1987) and authored Resource Economics (2010). He has held visiting positions at the University of British Columbia and UC Berkeley. Conrad’s work bridges theoretical economics and practical resource allocation challenges.
