Christopher Barrett is the Stephen B. & Janice G. Ashley Professor of Applied Economics and Management and International Professor of Agriculture at Cornell University's Charles H. Dyson School. He also holds roles at the Jeb E. Brooks School of Public Policy and is a Senior Faculty Fellow at the Cornell Atkinson Center for Sustainability. His research focuses on global food security, poverty reduction, and sustainable development, with particular attention to climate resilience, agricultural innovation, and policy interventions. Barrett holds degrees from Princeton, Oxford, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
