Jon Christian F. Nordrum is an Associate Professor at the Department of Public and International Law, University of Oslo. He holds a PhD from the University of Oslo (2017), an LL.M. from New York University (2005), and a master's degree from the University of Tromsø (2004). His research focuses on administrative law, regulatory frameworks, legislative studies, and legal language clarity. He chairs a law commission proposing reforms to Norway's primary and secondary education law and leads a project on clear legal language funded by a 30 million NOK grant from the Ministry of Local Government and Modernisation. Nordrum teaches courses on administrative law and legislative studies and oversees master's programs in public law. He is a member of the Nordic Administrative Association's board and contributes to research groups on Administrative Law and Law, Economy, and Governance.
His career includes roles as a research fellow at the University of Oslo (2010–2017), legal adviser in the Ministry of Justice (2005–2010), and participation in law commissions addressing aquaculture regulation and kindergarten law. His publications explore codification of administrative law, legislative models, digital governance in welfare systems, and legal language reforms.
