Professor Jolyon Mitchell is a Professor of Communications, Arts, and Religion at the University of Edinburgh, affiliated with the School of Divinity. He serves as Director of the Centre for Theology and Public Issues (CTPI) and President of Theology and Religious Studies - UK (TRS UK). Previously, he worked as a BBC producer and journalist before joining academia. His research focuses on religion, violence, peacebuilding, and the arts, exploring media's role in fostering peace or inciting conflict. Mitchell holds degrees from the Universities of Cambridge, Durham, and Edinburgh.
