Chad Ford is an Associate Professor of Religious Studies, specializing in intercultural and religious peacebuilding. He teaches courses such as Introduction to Peacebuilding, Religion, Violence, and Peacebuilding, Bridging Religious Difference, Christian Peacebuilding, and the Peacebuilding Capstone. His work integrates academic scholarship with on-the-ground mediation and facilitation in global conflict zones.
His research interests center on transforming conflict through love and understanding across religious and cultural divides. He emphasizes practical peacebuilding strategies in both personal and global contexts, drawing from his extensive field experience. His work bridges theology, conflict analysis, and peace education, with a strong focus on actionable change in divided communities.
Chad Ford is the author of Dangerous Love: Transforming Fear and Conflict at Home, at Work and in the World (2020), which has been acclaimed as a leading resource on peace for general audiences. His fieldwork spans over 50 trips to the Middle East and engagements in Ireland, Cyprus, South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, Oceania, China, and across the United States, reflecting a deeply global approach to conflict transformation.
He serves on the Executive Board of PeacePlayers, a nonprofit organization dedicated to using sport and dialogue to unite divided communities. This role underscores his commitment to practical, grassroots peace initiatives beyond the academy.
