Joke Fleer is Full Professor of Health Psychology at University Medical Center Groningen and Dean at University College Groningen & Honours College. Her research investigates psychological adaptation to chronic illness and stress management in educational contexts.
Research focuses on:
- Psychological interventions for chronic conditions
- Stress and coping mechanisms in patients and students
- Professional identity formation in medical education
- Mindfulness-based therapies
Current PhD projects examine:
- Fatigue management in inflammatory bowel disease
- Personalized behavior change interventions
- Preventive heart rehabilitation
