John Wood, Ph.D., is a tenured Professor in the Political Science Department at the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO), where he has served since 2021. Previously a co-coordinator of UCO's MPA program (2019-2023), Wood specializes in public administration, municipal governance, and urban sustainability. He also serves as an affiliated faculty member at Swansea University (UK) since 2018.

Wood's work bridges practical and theoretical divides in public administration, emphasizing transformative learning, intergovernmental relations, and conflict resolution. His publications explore water management, electoral reform, and civic education, with a geographic emphasis on Oklahoma and comparative international contexts.

Professional Service:

He has mentored students in action civics through Generation Citizen and led international study tours to Uganda and Guatemala.
