John Vitale is an Adjunct Professor of Accounting at Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business. He holds a B.S. in Accounting from Brooklyn College, an M.S. in Taxation from Fordham University, and a J.D. from William Howard Taft University. With over 29 years of experience, he serves as a partner in Ernst & Young LLP’s (EY) East region tax practice, advising clients across industries on tax compliance, business transactions, and partnership taxation. He has leadership roles in EY’s Northeast Sub-Area Channel One Tax Accounting and Risk Advisory Services and contributed to national tax groups.
His expertise includes ASC 740 accounting standards, tax implications in business combinations, restructurings, and international tax strategies. Vitale is a licensed CPA in New York and attorney in California, affiliated with professional organizations such as the American Institute of CPAs and the American Bar Association. He also teaches in graduate tax programs at Fordham and William Howard Taft University.
