John Tresch

John Tresch is Professor in the History of Science, Technology and Medicine at University College London, with a joint appointment as Professor II at the University of Oslo. His research examines the historical relationships between scientific practices, technological developments, and cultural frameworks.

He has contributed to understanding how scientific instruments and media technologies shape knowledge production. Professor Tresch's 2018 lecture 'So Many Pictures of Food' at Haus der Kulturen der Welt explored visual culture and representation in scientific contexts.
