معرفی
John Toedt serves as Professor, Biochemistry Coordinator, and Department Chair within the College of Physical Sciences at Eastern Connecticut State University. His academic leadership spans departmental administration and specialized biochemistry instruction.
Dr. Toedt holds a Ph.D. in Biophysics and M.S. in Biotechnology from the University of Connecticut, with doctoral research conducted at the National Institute of Analytical Ultracentrifugation. His postdoctoral training occurred at the Center for Advanced Research and Biotechnology in collaboration with NIST.
His research focuses on biophysical characterization of macromolecules, particularly protein structure and molecular interactions. Key methodologies include analytical ultracentrifugation and structural analysis, as evidenced by publications spanning bacterial enzymes, viral coat proteins, and prohormone processing systems. Research trends reveal consistent emphasis on
- Protein folding and stability
- Enzyme mechanism elucidation
- Structural basis of molecular recognition
- Macromolecular assembly dynamics
Teaching responsibilities encompass Biochemistry, Physical Biochemistry, and Physical Biochemistry Techniques courses.
