Dr John Stanton-Ife is a Senior Lecturer in Criminal Law at The Dickson Poon School of Law, King's College London, since 2000. Previously, he was a Lecturer at Queen's University Belfast Law School. He holds a PhD from the European University Institute, a BCL from Oxford, an LLM from Toronto, and an LLB from University College London.
Teaching: Undergraduate courses in Criminal Law, Moral Philosophy, and Jurisprudence & Legal Theory.
Research Interests: Focus on the philosophical foundations of criminal law, including legal theory, moral philosophy, and the boundaries of law. His work explores topics like harm principles, legal liability, and ethical frameworks within criminal justice systems.
Publications: His recent works include Selling the Inchoate Mode (2026), Where is the Harm in Theft? (2024), and The Limits of Law (2022). His research spans criminal law philosophy, taxation ethics, and mental health legal issues.
