John Semple

John Semple is a Professor and the Charles Wyly Professor of Management Information Systems (MIS) at the Cox School of Business, Southern Methodist University (SMU). He joined SMU in 1996 and teaches courses in statistics, decision analysis, revenue management, and spreadsheet modeling. His research focuses on analytical models addressing business topics, with publications in top journals like Operations Research, Management Science, and Marketing Science.

• PhD in Management Science/Mathematics from the University of Texas at Austin

His research interests include inventory/production models, supply chain management, and optimization theory. Semple's work applies analytical frameworks to solve practical business problems, particularly in operations management and decision modeling.
