John Reid

John Reid is a Researcher at the Australian National University's College of Arts & Social Sciences, affiliated with the Psychology, Communication and the Arts research group. He joined the Canberra School of Art in 1978 after holding an ANU Creative Arts Fellowship (1977-79). Reid holds a humanities degree from ANU, a Master of Fine Arts from UNSW, and professional qualifications in graphic design.

His artistic practice and research focus on human rights and environmental issues through interdisciplinary approaches including photography, performance art, and collage. This work intersects with psychology and communication theory, examining how visual media can engage with socio-ecological challenges.
