John R. Dement is an Associate Professor of Theatre Arts and Director of Theatre at Oklahoma Baptist University (OBU). With over 35 years of experience in the theatre industry, he has directed more than 40 academic and community theatre productions and performed in major cities like Austin, Houston, Dallas, and Baton Rouge. His career includes film work in Miss Congeniality, Where the Heart Is, and The Faculty, as well as television contributions to Dallas, The Good Guys, and Lone Star.

- M.F.A. in Performance from Louisiana State University
- B.A. in Theatre from Baylor University
- NRA Certified Instructor
Mr. Dement’s expertise spans Performance, Theatre Production and Design, Dramatic Theory and Criticism, and Theatre and Stage Management. He also contributes to summer programs at Kia Kima Scout Reservation, teaching archery, rifle, and shotgun skills.
