John Peter Brodholt is a Professor at the Centre for Planetary Habitability, University of Oslo. His research focuses on Earth's interior processes, including core-mantle interactions, mantle mineral physics, and planetary formation. He has contributed to studies on exoplanet composition, mantle water cycling, and volatile element distribution.
Key research areas include mineral phase transitions under high pressure, isotopic fractionation during planetary differentiation, and computational modeling of thermoelastic properties. His work integrates experimental, theoretical, and computational approaches to understand Earth’s structure and evolution.
Main publications (2021–2025) explore topics like CaSiO₃ perovskite behavior, exoplanet compositional diversity, and the role of water in Earth’s core dynamics. Collaborations involve institutions globally, addressing fundamental questions in planetary science and geophysics.
