His academic credentials include:
- Ph.D. in Teaching and Learning from Georgia State University
- M.Ed. in Science Education from Georgia State University
- B.S. in Physics and Chemistry from Old Dominion University
Prior to academia, he worked as an environmental scientist and taught middle/high school science courses.
Dr. Pecore's research centers on innovative student engagement in science through project-based learning and virtual reality, with scholarly focus on progressive education frameworks, science creativity/giftedness intersections, and teacher facilitation of inquiry-based pedagogy. His work emphasizes contextualized learning experiences and examines science self-efficacy dynamics across diverse student populations.
He has secured multiple science education grants from agencies including the National Science Foundation, supporting regional and national teacher workshops, summer camps, and community outreach initiatives.
