John Paul Riquelme is a Professor at Boston University, specializing in modernist literature and Gothic studies. His research bridges 19th- and 20th-century literature, with a focus on authors like Joyce, Woolf, Beckett, and contemporary figures like Alison Bechdel. He co-chairs Harvard’s Modernism Seminar and has held prestigious fellowships, including the Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship.

His research interests include the evolution of modernist Gothic, post-Romantic literature, and interdisciplinary approaches to narrative and aesthetics. He teaches courses on modern Irish writers, transatlantic modernism, and the Gothic genre. Recent publications include revised critical editions of Joyce’s A Portrait of the Artist (2022) and Stoker’s Dracula (2016), alongside essays on Eliot, Wilde, and Beckett.
