John P. Masly is an Associate Professor and Associate Director of the School of Biological Sciences at the University of Oklahoma. He holds a B.S. from Pennsylvania State University, an M.S. and Ph.D. in Evolutionary Genetics from the University of Rochester, and completed a NIH-NRSA Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Southern California. His research focuses on the genetic and developmental mechanisms underlying speciation and phenotypic evolution, particularly in Drosophila and damselflies. Key interests include the evolution of reproductive traits, genital morphology, and the interplay between genetics and development in generating biodiversity.
