Fr. John O'Neil, PhD is a Professor in the Religious Studies Department at Felician University's School of Arts & Sciences, where he has served since 1998. He is also an Adjunct Professor at St. Peter's College and St. Joseph's Seminary.
- Raised in Long Island, NY, he was ordained as a Permanent Deacon in 1977 and later to the priesthood in 2000.
- His academic credentials include a PhD and DMin from the Graduate Theological Foundation, a Graduate Certificate in Pastoral Counseling, and additional advanced degrees from Drew University, Fordham University, and St. Francis College.
Research Interests focus on Trinitarian Theology, Christology, and Moral Theology, with a particular emphasis on the theological and sacramental dimensions of Catholic doctrine. He has contributed to the DEACON DIGEST with ten articles exploring the theology of the diaconate.
Teaching Roles include courses such as Christology, Introduction to Catholic Theology, and Moral and Spiritual Dimensions of Health Care.
Leadership Positions held include Associate Director of the Permanent Diaconate Program for the Diocese of Brooklyn.
