Daniel Garland is an Assistant Professor of Theology at Ohio Dominican University, where he teaches courses in theological disciplines. Prior to this role, he has held teaching positions at Ave Maria University, Christendom College, and its Graduate School of Theology, as well as contributing to Permanent Diaconate Programs across the United States.

Research Interests span Sacred Scripture (focusing on the Pentateuch, Prophets, and Johannine Literature), Patristic and Thomistic Exegesis, Sacraments, and Christology. His work often bridges classical theological traditions with contemporary theological and philosophical inquiries, particularly through the lens of Aquinas’s interpretations of Johannine texts.
Publications reflect his engagement with Eucharistic theology, Christological debates, and historical dogma, with a recurring emphasis on Aquinas’s influence and Johannine themes. His translation of St. Jerome’s Commentary on the Prophet Haggai further underscores his commitment to making classical theological works accessible to modern scholarship.
