John N. Mather

John N. Mather (1943–2017) was a Full Professor at Princeton University's Mathematics Department and previously held roles as Associate Professor and Full Professor at Harvard University. He specialized in singularity theory, mechanics, and the chaotic behavior of mechanical systems, renowned for groundbreaking contributions like the Mather-Malgrange Preparation Theorem.
