John Munns is Associate Professor at the University of Cambridge, Fellow of Magdalene College, and Affiliated Lecturer in History and Art History. His interdisciplinary research combines theology, medieval history, and art history.
His publications include Cross and Culture in Anglo-Norman England and he co-edited Henry of Blois: New Interpretations. Current projects examine English art post-Norman Conquest and episcopal patronage networks. He leads the AHRC-funded 'Hidden Heritage' research network studying Durham Castle's Norman Chapel.
Dr. Munns received the 2019 Reginald Taylor Prize and teaches medieval history and art. He serves as Editor of the Journal of the British Archaeological Association and Chair of the Corpus of Romanesque Sculpture project.
