Dr. John Mortensen ('97) is a Tutor at Thomas Aquinas College with additional appointments as Associate Professor of Theology and Philosophy at Wyoming Catholic College. His doctoral dissertation on St. Thomas Aquinas' theory of analogy earned the prestigious Prize of the Pontifical Academies in 2010, making him one of only five scholars worldwide and two from North America to receive this honor since its 1997 establishment.
Mortensen specializes in Thomistic philosophy, particularly Aquinas' treatment of analogy, natural law theory, and metaphysical concepts. He previously taught at the International Theological Institute in Austria and Texas A&M University.
