Dr. John McClellan is an Associate Professor of Philosophy at Carson-Newman University, affiliated with the Philosophy, Linguistics and World Languages Department. He specializes in the rationality of religious beliefs and ethical reasoning, with a focus on the philosophical analysis of trust, forgiveness, and the problem of suffering in theological contexts.
- Education: BA in Philosophy from UNC-Greensboro; PhD in Philosophy from UT-Knoxville.
His research explores intersections between Christian theology, moral philosophy, and epistemology, particularly addressing questions about divine justice, the justification of suffering, and the cognitive foundations of religious trust.
