Michael Bergmann is a full Professor of Philosophy at Purdue University, where he has taught since 1997. His expertise spans epistemology, philosophy of religion, and metaphysics, with significant contributions to debates on epistemic justification, the problem of evil, and Reformed Epistemology. He has authored influential books and edited volumes, and has held leadership roles in academic societies.

Research Focus:
Bergmann's work in epistemology centers on foundationalism, externalism, defeaters, and responses to skepticism. In philosophy of religion, he explores the problem of evil, skeptical theism, and the epistemology of religious belief. His metaphysics research includes free will, modality, and divine providence.
