John M. Morris serves as a Faculty Advisor for the Global Access Program and is a part-time lecturer at UCLA Anderson School of Management, where he advises MBA teams for both the Fully Employed MBA (FEMBA) and Executive MBA (EMBA) programs.
With over 20 years of professional experience in venture capital and early-stage investing, Mr. Morris brings substantial real-world business expertise to his academic role. His career includes serving as a partner at an expansion-stage venture capital firm focused on information technology companies and holding leadership positions with Tech Coast Angels (TCA), where he currently serves as Chairman Emeritus. He has extensive board experience with both public and private companies and currently serves on the boards of three venture-backed firms.
Mr. Morris earned his undergraduate degree in Economics from UCLA and completed his MBA at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. He previously served as a director for the Los Angeles Venture Association (LAVA) and maintains active involvement in the Southern California business community. His professional background in public accounting, financial management, and investment banking informs his teaching approach and advisory work with MBA students.
His areas of expertise include Entrepreneurial Operations, Venture Initiation, Financial Statement Analysis, Internet Software Development, and Managing Business Growth. Outside of his professional and academic commitments, he enjoys golf, scuba diving, adventure travel, and digital photography.
