John Keady

Professor John Keady holds a joint appointment between the University of Manchester and Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust. He leads the inter-disciplinary Dementia and Ageing Research Team (DART) and is founding co-editor of Dementia: The International Journal of Social Research and Practice. His research focuses on creative methodologies for dementia care, with emphasis on participatory approaches and lived experiences.

Professor Keady serves on multiple national and international committees, including the Alzheimer's Society Grant Awarding Body and the Manchester Institute for Collaborative Research on Ageing (MICRA). He maintains research partnerships with Manchester Camerata, developing music-based dementia assessment tools.

His translational work includes developing the 'Getting to Know Me' training program for hospital staff, implemented across the Greater Manchester health system.
