John James Nicoletti is the Executive Director and Professor of Practice at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism & Mass Communication, Arizona State University. He leads the Cronkite Agency, an integrated strategic communications agency formed by merging the Public Relations Lab and Digital Audiences Lab. His role involves guiding student-led campaigns for clients while leveraging faculty expertise. Nicoletti holds an Ed.D. in Organizational Leadership from Grand Canyon University, an M.A. in Communications from Pepperdine University, and a B.A. in English from UCLA.
Research & Interests: Nicoletti’s expertise spans strategic communications, digital media, organizational leadership, and health communication. His doctoral research focused on Fortune 500 CEOs’ use of Twitter to articulate organizational priorities. He also contributed to studies on television news anchor perceptions and media dynamics.
Teaching & Grants: He teaches courses like JMC 476 (Public Relations) and MCO 570 (Master Mass Comm Capstone). His leadership of the Cronkite Agency includes managing a $1.3M RWJF grant for health-related outreach targeting Spanish-speaking families in the Southwest. Previously, he held executive roles at Disney, InStride, and the city of Anaheim.
