John J. Bright

John J. Bright is a Senior Investigator at the Department of Neuroscience within the School of Science at Indiana University. His research focuses on neuroimmunology, cellular and molecular mechanisms in multiple sclerosis, cancer, and neural stem cell biology. He has been funded by the NIH, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and other foundations, with extensive publications in immunology and neuroscience.

Research Interests:

Bright’s lab investigates immune-regulatory mechanisms in multiple sclerosis, using transgenic mouse models and bioinformatics. They explore cytokine roles in MS pathogenesis, PPAR receptor pathways for therapeutic interventions, and neural stem cell potential for CNS repair. Their work also examines brain tumor stem cells, focusing on drug resistance and immune evasion.
