John Grider is a Professor in the Department of History at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. His research focuses on maritime history, labor movements, Native American history, and the American West, examining how cultural encounters reshaped maritime labor identities in the 19th-century Pacific. He teaches courses including World History, Native American History, and US Labor History.
