Professor John Gribben is Professor of Medical Oncology at Queen Mary University of London and leads the Centre for Haemato-Oncology. Previously, he was a Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Fellow at UCL (1987-89) and held a Fogarty International Fellowship at Harvard (1989-1991).
His research centers on cancer immunotherapy, including stem cell transplantation, B-cell tumor antigens, and minimal residual disease in leukaemia and lymphoma. He investigates the genetic evolution of cancer and conducts clinical trials to translate findings into therapies for haematological malignancies.
His publication record shows a consistent focus on the immune microenvironment in lymphoid cancers, particularly Hodgkin lymphoma and chronic lymphocytic leukemia. Key contributions include elucidating T-cell dysfunction mechanisms and identifying biomarkers for outcome prediction.
