John Fletcher

John Fletcher is a Professor at the Department of Chemistry & Molecular Biology, University of Gothenburg, specializing in imaging mass spectrometry for biological analysis. His work combines secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS) with gas cluster ion beam technology to study sub-cellular lipidomic changes in disease progression and treatment.

Research Focus: Developing advanced SIMS techniques for high-resolution molecular imaging of biological tissues, particularly in cancer and neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer's. His group optimizes sample preparation methods for vacuum environments and explores 3D imaging applications.
