John Flaver serves as an Adjunct Professor of Clarinet in the Department of Music at Le Moyne College, based at the W. Carroll Coyne Center for the Performing Arts in Syracuse, New York.
He holds a Bachelor of Music from Temple University and a Master of Music from the Catholic University of America, establishing his foundation in classical performance training.
His professional expertise centers on music performance with specialization in clarinet repertoire and wind ensemble collaboration. As an active performer, he regularly appears with The Highland Winds ensemble in Syracuse, maintaining strong ties to the regional music scene.
Professor Flaver's career spans diverse performance settings including former positions with the United States Army Band 'Pershing’s Own', Syracuse Symphony Orchestra, and Lake Placid Center Orchestra. His teaching portfolio includes visiting lecturer appointments at Ithaca College and instructional roles directing the Wind Ensemble at Onondaga Community College.
