John Egan is an Assistant Professor of Practice in the Department of Marketing at the Busch School of Business, The Catholic University of America. He joined the faculty in 2018, specializing in Strategic Marketing and Venture Design. His expertise includes product-market strategy, venture design, and leading marketing innovation in technology-oriented businesses.

Research Interests: Egan’s work centers on Venture Design, applying design thinking to create organizational forms and methods that enable firms to innovate and thrive in the face of digital technology challenges. Professional Background: Prior to academia, John held executive leadership roles at growth-stage technology businesses, three of which achieved significant growth and successful investor outcomes. He has also worked with global firms including Price Waterhouse, Siemens, and Cable & Wireless.
Teaching: He currently teaches Marketing Strategy and Marketing Management.
Personal: John and his wife Josephine reside in Maryland, where they raise their five children. He emphasizes the importance of leveraging innovation to generate good in the world, stating, “We live in a moment of unprecedented change... let’s do it.”
