John Doonan is a Professor and Chair (DLM) at Aberystwyth University's Institute of Biological, Environmental & Rural Sciences (IBERS), serving as Director of the National Plant Phenomics Centre. He holds a BSc Hons and PhD from the University of Leeds. His research focuses on plant genetics, developmental cell biology, and the application of high-throughput phenotyping technologies to enhance agricultural productivity and sustainability. Collaborations with computer scientists aim to integrate AI and emerging data technologies for crop improvement.
