John D. Sundquist is a Professor of German and Linguistics at Purdue University's School of Languages and Cultures and School of Interdisciplinary Studies. He specializes in historical Germanic linguistics, focusing on syntactic, morphological, and semantic changes across German, English, and Scandinavian languages, while also exploring connections between language acquisition and language evolution. His teaching includes graduate and undergraduate courses in linguistics, German language, and culture.
