His work emphasizes ethical frameworks, hermeneutics, and practical applications for peacebuilding.
His 15 most recent publications reflect a focus on interreligious tensions, philosophical causation models, and missional approaches to diversity. These span peer-reviewed journals, book chapters, and critical reviews, often addressing historical and contemporary challenges in multicultural contexts.
Barton’s professional contributions include organizing interfaith events and leading the Kibo Group, a nonprofit addressing East African poverty alleviation. His academic career integrates missionary experience in Uganda (1994–2002) with rigorous interdisciplinary scholarship.
