John Borelli serves as Senior Research Fellow at the Berkley Center for Religion, Peace, and World Affairs and as special assistant to the president for Catholic identity and dialogue at Georgetown University. With over two decades of service at Georgetown, he has been instrumental in advancing interreligious dialogue and understanding, drawing on his expertise as a historian of religions and theologian.

Research Interests: Dr. Borelli's scholarly work centers on the history of religions, theology, and interreligious dialogue. He has conducted extensive research on the Second Vatican Council's declaration Nostra Aetate and its implications for Catholic-Jewish relations. His interests also include ecumenism, interreligious peacebuilding, and the theological contributions of figures such as John Henry Newman. His ongoing projects address contemporary challenges in religious freedom and the application of papal encyclicals like Laudato Si to interreligious contexts.
