Dr John Crichton is an Honorary Professor at Edinburgh Law School, University of Edinburgh, and a consultant forensic psychiatrist at the Orchard Clinic, Royal Edinburgh Hospital. His career spans both academic and clinical domains, with a focus on forensic psychiatry and medical law.

John Crichton previously served as Medical Director of the Forensic Network and State Hospitals’ Board for Scotland, contributing to systemic improvements in forensic psychiatric care.
