Professor John Cary Sims is a distinguished faculty member at the McGeorge School of Law, University of the Pacific, with over 40 years of experience as an attorney, teacher, and scholar. His work focuses on constitutional law, government transparency, and national security. He co-founded the Journal of National Security Law & Policy, a peer-reviewed journal addressing issues like surveillance, counterterrorism, and human rights. Sims holds a JD from Harvard Law School and an AB from Georgetown University.
His research explores the intersection of U.S. law with international frameworks, including treaty enforcement, comparative law, and global human rights.
