John Carl is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at the University of Oklahoma, affiliated with the Dodge Family College of Arts and Sciences. He holds a Ph.D. in Sociology (2002) and a Master’s in Social Work, both from the University of Oklahoma. His research focuses on Criminology, the U.S. Prison system, Sociological Theory, and innovative teaching methods like the Inside-Out Prison Exchange Program.
