John C. Winters is the DPAA Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Roy Rosenzweig Center for History and New Media, George Mason University. His research examines how Indigenous peoples and institutions shaped colonial American culture and memory in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Winters holds an active National Park Service research grant. While not currently listed as advising students, his work at the Roy Rosenzweig Center involves collaborative digital history initiatives that bridge academic research and public engagement.
